The black and white trend that
has been extremely popular this summer is
getting darker and edgier with shifts to all
black as fall approaches.
Faux and genuine leather
are exceptionally important this year both as
contrast and monochromatic textural trims, and
as individual items of clothing such as jackets,
and skirts. Charcoal grey adds to the
smoky palette with shots of blood red and orchid
purple adding depth. Teal green and
vibrant blue are being used unexpectedly or a

Similar color combinations are
appearing in the
BoHo style sphere
also transitioning out of summer. Pieces
are softer with more flowing lines, but the same
colors are mixed together in folkloric
embroidery designs and pattern mix pieces.
Mexican aesthetic traditions are still in play
with distinctive floral patterns used in prints
and surface design. BoHo looks will
also sometimes use the blue and white vase and
china floral patterns which are showing up on
everything from dresses to shoes, and are

sporty color block styles and increasingly
patterns as part of the pattern mixing trend
which is still playing out.
One of the biggest style stories
emerging that will affect trends moving forward
is the swing from ultra skinny pant silhouettes
to wider leg looks. Many are still holding
on to the slim legged looks, but more and more
and straight leg styles are trending in.
As people learn to work with proportions and
mixes with more fitted and structured tops,
expect to see more of these looks moving
Jersey jumpsuits are are also
extremely important this fall, with classic
black available from almost every fashion
forward designer and retailer. Versatile
and easy to dress up or down, a few have extra
detailing that take them more explicitly into
the realm of evening and party wear. More
adventurous patterned versions are also
appearing. Although slim leg styles are
available, wider legged silhouettes are
